The world is changing fast, and the research landscape with it. Embracing new technologies such as AI (e.g. ChatGPT) can speed up research and democratise research writing when English is the lingua franca. However, with these advantages come ethical concerns. This workshop aims to teach writers in academia and beyond how to use ChatGPT as a writing co-pilot. It explores how ChatGPT can be used effectively and ethically when generating ideas and outlines, improving clarity and style, checking grammar and spelling, and more. The workshop’s ultimate goal is to help native and non-native English-speaking participants improve the quality and efficiency of their writing in any context.
