A change of culture is always a challenge in which one is confronted not only with a foreign culture, but above all with oneself. In general, the term culture shock (Oberg, 1960; Wagner, 1996) refers to the difficulties associated with adapting to a new cultural environment. The confrontation with the unknown often triggers unexpected reactions, which can lead to difficulties studying and private problems. A more detailed knowledge of these processes, however, can help to cope more successfully with the cultural change.
