Applying to take a doctorate in Wuppertal (international applicants)

If you are an international graduate intending to take a doctorate at UW, you should first find a professor at UW to supervise you. Please use the schools' and departments' websites to find a potential supervisor whose field of research best matches your intended research project. 

Send your potential supervisor a letter or e-mail with the following information:

• outline of your proposed research
• details of your experience in that field
• personal resumé / curriculum vitae.

Important: There is no entitlement to doctoral supervision. Furthermore, acceptance for doctoral supervision is not always linked to a job offer at the supervisor's chair. You may have to organise funding for your doctoral studies elsewhere. To help you, we have compiled a brief overview of some funding options for international doctoral candidates.
