Welcome to the homepage of the Center for Graduate Studies (CGS) at the University of Wuppertal. The CGS serves as a contact point for students interested in pursuing a doctorate, and supports the research activities of postgraduates. In the following pages we present our center and provide information about taking a doctorate at UW.

Info & Advice You want to take a doctorate? The CGS website contains a wealth of information on doctoral studies at UW for both German and international students, including sections on how to finance your doctorate. Individual advice and guidance is available from the CGS advisory service. more

Courses If you are looking for advanced training in theory and method, the CGS course program offers tailor-made courses and workshops. more

Project Support CGS provides financial and organizational support for research projects and activities initiated by postgraduates. Doctoral students can also apply for financial support for lecture tours and conference travel in Germany and abroad. more

Doctoral Study Groups CGS’ doctoral study groups support interdisciplinary exchange and networking among doctoral students. You can take part in one of currently 10 groups or found your own study group. more

Career Doctoral students profit from a range of courses which offer career guidance and provide opportunities to acquire key qualifications for a range of professions both in- and outside academia. more
