Biografie

Kurzbiographie:

I have experience in the determination of halogenated compounds in gas phase using different analytical techniques (GC/FID, FTIR spectroscopy, etc.) for which I have several publications on this subject. Now, as part of my thesis work, I have studied the photochemical oxidation of different epoxides with chlorine and OH radicals, experimentally and computationally. It is very interesting, for example, that these epoxide compounds are being highly studied for their possible applications in CO2 capture.

Furthermore, I have also participated in different polluting measurement campaigns in the past, as well as having experience in the use of various atmospheric simulation chambers, both in Germany (Wuppertal University) and France (HELIOS; CNRS-ICARE). As part of my PhD work, I have directed a research project at CNRS-ICARE. Besides, in cooperation with the department of theoretical chemistry of my faculty, I worked on a proposal to improve the calculation of SAR in epoxides. I was very pleased with the notice my work was rated outstanding by international peers in a high-impact journal.

Titel und Abstract des Dissertationsprojekts:

„Experimental and theoretical study of the reactions of atmospheric relevant epoxides with OH radicals and chlorine atoms “

The experiments were performed in two atmospheric simulation chambers at the University of Wuppertal, Germany, with a total volume of 480 L and 1080 L, respectively using in situ long path FTIR spectroscopy for the analyses of epoxides in the gas phase towards chlorine atoms and OH radicals. Development of the first theoretical study of epoxides towards chlorine atoms in cooperation with the Department of Theoretical Physical Chemistry of the University of Wuppertal. Investigations on the reactivity trends of epoxides and SAR calculations. Atmospheric Chemistry using different Smog Chambers; mechanisms and kinetics.
