The Center for Graduate Studies (CGS) is a central organizational unit of the University of Wuppertal (UW). It serves as a contact point for students interested in pursuing a doctorate, and supports the research activities of UW doctoral students. Reflecting the profile of UW's interdisciplinary research centers the CGS is a cross-faculty body.

CGS offers UW doctoral students courses and workshops designed for specialist training and the acquisition of key career qualifications. It promotes interdisciplinary working groups and encourages the exchange of ideas and networking between doctoral students. Guest lectures, method workshops and other academic projects can be set up and implemented with the financial and organizational support of CGS: financial support for specific projects can be applied for directly from CGS. The establishment of a university-wide alumni network for doctoral students providing contacts, as well as support for career entry, is one of the goals of CGS.
